Help Me Get Back to School...

And Other Updates... -

Saturday, May 31st, 2025

I took the last trimester off from violin making school. Here's why:

TLDR (or the video wouldn't load for some reason); I lost my job twice and started up my GoFundMe again.
Like I said in the video, I'm considering releasing some music and/or streaming from the workbench to help reach this first goal. The info is right here ↓

PLEASE share with all of your friends. In the meantime, I'm currently right outside Portland working on something very special; I'll be posting about it here very shortly...

While I Have Your Attention...

The music making community could use some assistance. Below are some other causes that, if you're feeling generous, could also use your support. This first one just needs a signature!

The Newark School

The Newark School of Musical Instrument Crafts recently has come under fire as Lincoln College announced it would accept no new students. Many promiinent makers currently in the field are alumni of this institiution, and while it would be cool for Chicago to have a monopoly on training future luthiers, we'd be losing, truly, a cornerstone in instrument making. Read more at the link above and consider signing and sharing the petition.

Gary Vessel

A great maker who I’ve met a handful of times at events has suffered from a stroke recently, and this campaign was set up by his son to help with his recovery. Gary is a grat guy and a prominent figure at the Violin Society of America, please show the man some love:

Christian Harvey Bass Fund

Chris Harvey (fellow Georgian) just finished his Masters at Rice, though he needs a bass that matches his current abilty and career path.

David Landau

This is and older one, as it came about after the California fires, yet it's soooo close to it's goal at 97%. David is a cellist and aspiring luthier who lost their childhood home in said fires:

Joyce's Violin

This last one is for a friend who had their violin stolen from them. They're a professional violinist and are looking to replace the instrument:
