Thanks for Visiting the New Instrument Exhibit!
VSA Minneapolis 2025 Attendees, First and foremost, before you even read the rest of this, go thank Corinne Hopkins for all the work she's done getting this year's New Instrument Exhibit together. Go on... Did ya do it? Okay, now you can keep reading.
Though I can't be there in person this year, I'm keeping a close eye on the NIE from behind the scenes. I hope everything is running smoothly, that every instrument is in tune, and that the 51st Convention overall is going well. It's always a pleasure to volunteer as a co-coordinator for the NIE; it's exhibitions like these that got me into violinmaking in the first place! To have a place where peers and mentors can share their work and make some music together is truly a pleasure to be able to contribute to. We're already thinking about how to make our little corner of next year's convention even better, both logistically and programmatically. (Certain VSA members may be hearing from me sometime in the New Year in regard to this. Stay tuned.) Have fun at the Orchestra Jam, please make sure every viola is played, grab a bean sprout from Claire Rowan, and take lots of pictures and videos...just not directly over the instruments! Feel free to shoot me a message over on Instagram. Like I said, I'm always watching... ☮︎ ♡ ♫ 𝄂
